Coldplay 'missed bonus: "The late delivery of Coldplay's new album cost the band a bonus from EMI.
The record company offered a financial incentive to the band to finish the follow-up to 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' ahead of the end of their financial trading year.
Frontman Chris Martin told InsideOnline.com: 'Deadlines be damned. It was all to do with fiscal years and shareholders anyway.'
'Once we forgot about the money we were free to push ourselves to the very limits and make the best album possible.'
